Atomium and Soccer

The Atomium was a big 3D hexagon shaped building with balls on all the corners. It was built in 1958 for the “World Expo” as a symbol to promote atomic technology and nuclear energy. When we got to the Atomium it looked like it was about half as big as the Eiffel Tower but just as coolio.

We did not go straight to the top of the Atomium because there was a very big line. So we waited 2 hours for the line to die down. While we were waiting we played soccer on the grass with our cousins Cecile, Tim and Colombin.

The day before we had gone to their house to eat dinner because we had just arrived that day. We played some board games and soccer. It was very fun. Zorion and I had not seen any other kids in person who are our age since we arrived in Europe 3 weeks ago. Our 3 cousins were Seraphin (17yrs), Ananis (16yrs) and Colombin (12yrs). Their parents were Tim and Cecil.

Back to soccer. The first game was more like a warm up, then we moved onto the reeaalll game… HERE WE GO!!! On our team was Dad and I and we can’t forget the 3 girls in goal (Cecile, Cora and Chelsea). We were called the “Belgian Waffles”. The other team was Colombin, Tim and Zorion. They were the “French Crepes”.

It was a tense game because we kept alternating goals. It was also really hard for me because I sprained my left knee. Cora defended two goal kicks from Zorion and Colombin. In the end Dad, myself and the 3 girls won. Yay. The score was 4 to 5. I scored the last two goals for our team.

Then we went up the Atomium. We went up 3 escalators In total. The last escalator had some lights. But from there we could not go any farther. So we had to go all the way down and then wait in a line for abot 15 minutes for the elevator. Then we went all the way up but it only took 22 seconds Dab. It was pretty fast ngl (not-gonna-lie) and then we got blue Schtromphl Smurf ice cream.

Next time, try not to sprain your knee like me. Bye.
