Leaning Tower of Pisa

We went to the leaning tower of Pisa. It was leaning a lot. I thought it was going to fall down. Once we had a good look at it and took all our photos then we went to look at the other side. But you could not go straight to the other side, but had to go around a big field.

There was this huge angel statue, but his arms and legs were gone and he was naked. In the wing of the statue there was the head of Medusa. Then we went around and saw another famous statue. It was a statue of a wolf feeding two human babies. I am not sure of the actual story, but we took a few photos of it and walked around.

We were going to go up the leaning tower of Pisa. Lots of people wanted to do it. But we could not see the leaning tower if we were on the top of the tower. The whole point of going to the Tower was to see it, not climb it, so we did not go up.

Mum and Dad thought it would be raining, but it was really hot and sunny. We were really hungry so we went to find a shop to get some food. When we were looking for a place to eat, we stopped to look at some sunglasses. A guy threw a bracelet at us and walked over to us. He picked it up off the ground, held up our wrist and put the bracelet onto Dad’s wrist. He got another bracelet for girls and put it on me. So then Mum and the boys walked over and then the man gave the boys the same bracelet as Dad. Then the man got an elephant figure and gave it to Mum. Then Dad had to give him some money. It was a scam though because we did not actually want the bracelets or the elephant figure because we already had souvenirs. But the way the man forced us, we did not really get a choice. Then once he walked away, we said Good bye and we found a shop that sold food.

For lunch I got pasta. It was a special kind of pasta called ravioli. The outside was a normal pasta, but the inside had spinach and cheese in it. It was very very yummy. Dad got eggplant parmigiana. Why is it called eggplant anyway? Dad told me because it is a vegetable shaped like an egg. I think it should be called “purple plant” not eggplant, because it is purple. It should not be called eggplant, that is just weird. Zorion got lasagna. Zavi got a pizza.

Crossing a bridge on the walk back to the train station

That is what we did at the leaning tower of Pisa. Ciao! (That means “bye” in Italian, but it also means “hello”!)
