My Favourite Walking Tour (Salzburg)
I'm going to tell you about the walking tour with Leo around Salzburg. It was a very popular tour with lots of people and good reviews. It was the Easter holidays which meant there was extra people.
This next photo was my favourite bit out of everything because of the story about why they built the PICKLE statues. There was a modern art guy, Erwin Wurm, who thought pickles were like human beings because on the outside they are all just pickles, but then each pickle has a uniquely different shape and size. Just like humans. I thought that was really funny.
We saw the oldest restaurant in the world, the tour guide thinks because he tried to do research online and it was the oldest one he could find. It was built in 803 AD so more than 1,200 years old. People like Charlemagne went there.
I thought it would be much sweeter but it just tasted like a meringue (pavlova) that is just egg. It was big and fluffy though, and had berry sauce underneath.

Salmone Alt was actually the mistress of the Archbishop of Salzburg at the time, which was the early 17th century. He wasn't allowed to marry her so to show his love he built a giant palace that is now called the Mirabell Palace.
This was one of my favourite tours so far because Leo spoke loudly so we could hear him and made some funny jokes. Thanks Leo!
