We went to Barcelona. You might have seen my last post on Rome when I had the travel book. I have a travel book for Barcelona, too.
When we went on a food tour, we got to try some of the foods in the book. We got to try a different type of ham.
We got to try three different types of cheese. There was a goat cheese, a cow cheese, and a sheep cheese.
We also got to try churros. They were really good. They had some special chocolate sauce.
We got to see a special church. It had a different design from all the churches we've seen, called Sagrada Familia. Barcelona is famous for its different architecture. This was Zavi's favourite building so far in the whole trip.
This picture shows the front of the Park Guell. We had to find these round mosaic signs of the park's name and also the famous dragon which looked like a lizard.
This was in front of the old Roman wall in Barcelona. The big letters showed the name of what the Romans named the city, Barcino.
We had to find a fountain and this statue, a naked lady on a horse holding a ship. The ship is a symbol of trade and exploration.
We had to find the flag which gave us one point. This was the flag of Barcelona on a fountain. If you drank from the fountain, it meant that you would come back to Barcelona.
We also had to find the different animals in this mosaic which showed what the town looked like a hundred years ago.
This was a carving of Saint Jordi fighting a dragon. We also saw it in a movie which was a 4D virtual reality show about Gaudi.
We had to find the bats on the lamp post. Bats were an important symbol in Barcelona because there was a story about how King Jaume I saw a bat as a symbol of victory when he was about to battle for Valencia.
We had to find a man on top of a column and holding something in his hand. It was Columbus who did exploration under Spain's flag.

This was the arch in Parc de la Ciutadella. In Rome we found out that arches were a sign of victory and they had rulers carved on them.
The arch had a lot of bats.
There were a lot of pooing statues because the farmers thought the poo was good for the crops. It was called El Caganer. They put it in nativity scenes for good luck. If people didn't do it, they would not have good luck.
There were even Disney princesses and marvel characters pooping. Olaf had snow poo!
I really liked Barcelona. The weather was really good. The first day we even got to see a race (the Barcelona marathon). It was really cool. There were drums and everything.
Hopefully one day you can go to Barcelona, too. It's really nice. I'm planning on visiting there again. Bye!
