Buskers and Performances in Rome

Today I'm going to be writing about all the buskers and entertainment that we saw in Rome. On our first day in Rome we were walking to a puppet show which I thought was going to be really big and there would be lots of people. We walked like an hour to get there so I was really excited. But it ended up being really small and it was in Italian. I'm not sure what the main story was but the main character was Pulcinella who is a popular Italian character especially in Naples. I'm still glad we went because it was a nice experience to see a puppet show.

After that, we could hear some music so we walked a whole two seconds (OMG!) where we saw two people playing music. They were playing country, Spanish, and Italian songs. The only song I recognised was "La Bamba" because we I've heard it on the radio before in Townsville and I also played it for my piano concert a few years ago.

This is a street artist that I didn't actually see but mom and Zorion told me about it. The lady had sand and she was carving little animals with it. There were also lots of people painting portraits or famous buildings in Rome.

The guy above you'd think he was just walking because it's a picture it's just frozen. He was actually just standing there frozen in the same pose. We saw a lot of people like that, some of them had costumes and were painted like statues, just sanding there on a platform completely still. Sometimes they would move their head to freak people out. They have a money basket in front of them so you can tell that they are not just a statue because they are so still.

A few days ago, we went to a late night concert at the Saint Paul's Within the Walls Church. The concert was mostly three tenors singing famous opera songs. The instruments that were played were piano, mandolin and cello. There was also a dancer (you can probably tell which one she was). She did ballet. We got pizza after that. Yum!

This was my favourite guy even though he was not really being funny, he was more like mocking people. He had different types of props he would use with different people, like big plastic scissors, balloons, and a big feather duster. For example, when he saw a dog he would get the scissors out and sneak up behind the owner like he was going to cut the fur of the dog. When he saw a bald person, to be funny he got the feather duster thing and dusted their head. Cora wanted to see what he would do to her so she walked past him. Because she's short, when mom tried to take a photo of her he used her as an arm rest and acted like he was enjoying the view.

I really enjoyed watching all the musicians, buskers, and artists, but especially the clown.
