My Day in Pompeii
We went to Pompeii. We had to catch a bus. It was at the train station. There was a van parked for the people who signed up for the Pompeii tour. They drove us to Pompeii which was about 30 minutes. Imagine how long it would be walking! I saw 7 spottos during the drive. Spottos are yellow cars.
In the olden days, back when Pompeii was an actual village and people actually lived there, the rich people only let the guests come in to one part of their house. It was the part where there was water. I'll explain the part with water. Our modern roofs go up so the water doesn't drip on the roof and stay there. But the roofs in Pompeii went downwards into the middle because they didn't have taps with water like we do. So they collected the water in something like a drain so then they could get it in something like a bucket.
There were a lot of mosaics on the walls and ground. That's how they know it was a rich person who lived there.
We also saw where the gladiators slept. Gladiators were people who fought against other people and sometimes animals for entertainment of the rich people.
It had a really nice view from the top.
In the streets, there were some dips which were the sewer systems. They didn't have pipes like we do or any electronic stuff. So they had to just put their poo and pee in the streets. People walked on stepping stones to go across the street for people not to fall in the sewage. Even that would be disgusting in the olden days, and they had a lot of disgusting stuff in the olden days.
We also saw people who were covered in plaster. The people were in Pompeii in their houses doing their normal stuff when the volcano erupted. Some of them went out of their homes and ran but the volcano was too quick and put some people under the lava. The people were covered in ashes and may have died from the poisonous gas or being too hot. When the archeologists found the bodies, they covered them in plaster to keep the shape. One time I actually saw somebody's teeth.
I saw two statues with Medusa's face in it. One had two faces! That was weird because Medusa didn't have two faces. Those weren't from the time of Pompeii though.

That's what we did in Pompeii. My favourite thing was looking in all the houses.
