Our Time at Julie's House

If you read my Barcelona post, then this one was after Barcelona. After we spent two days in Barcelona, mom and I flew to Marbella, Spain. Actually we flew to Malaga and then took a bus to Marbella. It was a bit tricky because we didn't know that you had to get tickets and the ticket booth was behind some poles. By the time we got our tickets, the next bus was full so then we had to wait another hour. We waited at a cafe and got some food. I got a donut. We also played with my Rome cards. After we finished our fifth game of "Go Fish," we got on the bus which took about half an hour.

Julie, my mom's friend and now my friend, picked us up at the bus station and drove us to her house. We had to go through her special gate. There's a lot of security in houses in Spain because if you don't have security cameras or a person who looks after the house, then a person can come live in it without paying. These people are called squatters and it's a big problem in Marbella because there's a lot of holiday homes that are empty most of the year.

Julie's house was very big. For the two days that just mom and I were there, we stayed in the downstairs guest room. It was really nice. It had a bathtub and a shower. It had two toilets (one normal toilet that every house has and the bidet style toilet that wipes your bum with water if you don't want to use toilet paper. She had a sign on the door that said "welcome" and a little gift basket. We also gave them some gifts for Julie and her daughters which were little bags with earrings from Australia.

They had two cats. One was named Pambe. He wasn't shy. The other one was very shy and I only saw him a few times. Pambe we saw every day. He was white and orange. He liked to be around people. He is a special type of cat that always wants attention.

One time, because he likes following me, I was in the pool and Pambe turned backwards and put his legs in the water. I'm not sure how he pushed himself up afterwards but it was really funny. Mom took a picture of his wet legs.

They also had a maid who was named Louisa. She cooked for us. One of my favourite meals was the potato tortilla which we had for breakfast. It was really good, I liked it.

Julie had two daughters. The older one was Lily and the younger one was Rose. After dad and the boys came from Barcelona (they stayed longer to go to a soccer game), we moved into Julie's room because it was the biggest room. Julie's room was really big. It had two couches and a balcony and a big circle bathtub. It had a big closet and a big bed.

On the first Thursday we were there, before we had COVID, we went to the market. I got a dress and it came with a purse. The market was really big. We also saw dresses, purses, toys, fans, flowers, and scarves.

Julie got these flowers at the market which smelled really good and bloom really big.

We were staying at Julie's house with Luke Slott who is a music performer. He did a children's class. It was my first children's class since we left on our trip. It was really nice. Luke taught us a song about laughter and love and God. Then we played a game called "Ha" where the first person said "ha" once and the second says "ha ha" etc and you try to make the next person laugh.

We also played another game which was like tag. You link arms with one other person. There are two people without a buddy. One person chases and the other person runs away. The person running away tries to link arms with someone, and the other person then has to run away. If they get caught, then they are the new tagger.

Then we did a mosaic craft that my mom made up based on the mosaics we saw in Barcelona. We cut different colours of paper into shapes and everyone decorated around a cut out quote.

We went a few times to the beach near Julie's house. The beach was really close, like five minute's walk. One time we skipped rocks and I jumped over the waves. We played a game where we threw a big rock then threw a smaller rock to try to hit it. When we got back home, we dusted off our feet and jumped in the pool. Dad took a video where Zorion pushed Zavian in the pool. We tried to pull Zorion in but he didn't get in.

While we were at Julie's house, we got COVID. We had it for about a week so we stayed in our room or wore masks when we were downstairs. We could still eat and talk though. The people with COVID ate at the outside table while the people without COVID ate at the inside table. During the day, we usually just watched TV and played imaginative games. Julie gave me some clay to make creatures with. Then I painted them but parts of the creatures fell off like the feet and ears so I just painted them individually. When I tried to glue them, they stuck to the paper so then I glued them together with paint and that worked.

I lost my second front tooth at Julie's house!

The "ratoncito" came which is the Spanish tooth fairy.

I really enjoyed our stay with Julie. When I grow up, I might get a cat. Bye!
