Cora's Top Three Singapore Activities

Here are some of my favourite experiences from our trip to Singapore.

River Wonders

We got to see a lot of animals at River Wonders. River Wonders is a place that is kind of like a zoo but instead you explore habitats around a different river. Instead of Savannah, rainforest and sea there were rivers like Amazon and Yangtze.

Some of the animals we saw were giant fish, long nosed turtles, monkeys (one had a red bottom and one was a cotton top monkey which was very cute!), giant stingrays, green anaconda, otters, flamingos, piranhas, jaguars, manatees, pandas and a red panda.

We also went to the show that had live animals. We were learning about how to save the environment so an otter went in and found three bottles. That was interesting because the otter was tiny and it had to hold a big bottle in its mouth. They also chose a volunteer to hold a snake.  It was really funny when they made the capybara swim. It didn't look like a creature that could swim!

There was a ride called the Amazon River Quest. We got to go on a boat. I went in the "wet zone". First we went into a cage thing that lifted up then we got to slide down a waterfall thing. I got a bit wet. On the ride, I got to see jaguars, monkeys, pink flamingos and more. It was really fun.

My favourite animals were the jaguars, pandas and the monkeys especially the cotton topped monkeys.

Changi Airport

At the airport, there were a lot of different activities. There was a slide in the middle of the airport. You had to get a ticket which had ten rides on it. Then you had to take an elevator to get to the top. It was metal and pretty slippery, and pretty fast. Luckily I had long pants that helped it not be too sticky.

Because otters are a big thing in Singapore, there were a lot of otter statues that were like a treasure hunt and they even had butterflies that moved in one area.

You could also cross the bridge into the "jewel" where there was a waterfall that came from the roof! The glass roof went inwards then water came in. At night it changed colours! It was like eight stories!

There was a canopy activity with a walking net and a jumping net. We did the jumping net activity. It was really fun because you could jump on it. There were also different things to do inside the canopy. You could get into this big room which had glittery balls in it and two soccer nets so you could play soccer. We spent a lot of time in there because there were other kids. I liked head butting the balls! There was also a tunnel that brought you into another room where you could jump. There was a spiral staircase but without any stairs so it was just a spiral. Another room had a slide made out of rope. The emergency exits were also made out of rope slides!

Dad and I stayed there while everyone else went home. The waterfall was like a magical fairytale because there were plants all around the walls and there were coloured lights everywhere that made it change colours.

Sentosa

One of my other favourite places was Sentosa island. We had to ride a bus then walk up a hill to catch a cable car. It was the cable car's 50th anniversary so they had a Pokemon theme going on.

We took the cable car over to Sentosa then we got into our swimmers because we went to the waterpark there. It was called Adventure Cove.

Mom and Grandma stayed with my little sister Cosette, and I went on the rides with dad and Grandpa. The first ride we did was a two person ride called the Riptide Washout.

You got a float then you went up a staircase. You had to be heavy enough so you wouldn't get stuck. They gave you a stamp to say you were heavy enough. When you went on the ride, it was like a normal slide until you got to the big "toilet bowl" which swirled around. Grandpa was really excited because he said he would finally know what it was like to be flushed down a toilet!

They also had a recreated reef with fish called Rainbow Reef. You didn't get to see the fish in the wild but it was still really cool. You had to shower so you didn't get anything bad in the tank with the fish. Then you had to put on a snorkel and a life jacket because the water was really deep. It was saltwater. I got some in my mouth which was so gross and disgusting. You got to swim around and see lots of different fish. I also saw a star fish!

The best ride in the park was called the Rocket. It was really fun because you went into a tube then you went up a type of escalator.
